GREENLIGHT #68: Accepted (with "Risky Business" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off")

Ann and Les don't agree equally about Accepted (2006.) It’s about high-school seniors who didn't get accepted to any college so they make up their own. Les thought Justin Long and Jonah Hill performed well enough in a lightly entertaining movie even though it is mindless. Ann agrees with the mindless part. She says that this type of movie depends on the audience finding the characters lovable and she didn't. For their GREENLIGHT Rentals, Les recommends another movie about high-school seniors taking charge in Risky Business (1983) starring Tom Cruise, Rebecca De Mornay, and Joe Pantoliano. Ann continues the high-schoolers in charge theme with Matthew Broderick's break out film Ferris Bueller's Day Off(1986.)
