GREENLIGHT #64: Talladega Nights (with "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" and "National Lampoon's Vacation")
Ann and Les, who are not NASCAR fans, are nonetheless big fans of Talladega Night (2006.) They are thrilled to report that this movie is a true comedy. And then to add to their delight, they thought Will Ferrell was as good as he gets. He co-wrote the script with the director Adam Mckayand together they made a movie that makes you laugh - right from the beginning. Adding to the comedic richness of this movie is a relative newcomer Sacha Baron Cohen who just knocked their socks off. For GREENLIGHT Rentals, Les stayed in the deep south and recommends the sophisticated comedy O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) starring George Clooney and John Turturro. Ann recommends a movie that has Chevy Chase and family passing through the deep south to meet up with the family headed by their oh-so-country cousin played by Randy Quaid calledNational Lampoon's Vacation (1983.)
